Training

IT Support Partners run down-to-earth seminars on specialist areas to help IT technicians and support businesses without dedicated IT personnel. This year’s series kicks off with an overview of the pros and cons of MS Vista in March and April. It will continue in Autumn with a wider training list to be published shortly. Please download an application form here > ARE YOU READY FOR WINDOWS VISTA?

To help users digest MS Vista, IT Support Partners are running four seminars to outline the pros and cons of upgrading to Vista and give independent advice to help companies decide how, if and when they should make the switch.

Last month saw the launch of the next generation Windows desktop operating system, MS Windows Vista, which will replace Windows XP. With at least five different versions to choose from, businesses are faced with difficult decisions. Most already rely on Microsoft operating systems as the foundation of their IT structure, but despite the longer term advantages of the new system, upgrades can initially be disruptive and time consuming. Although many companies see MS Vista as an inevitable step forward, they may not be ready to make the move immediately. New computers are likely to have Vista pre-installed as standard, and users and IT technicians must decide how to integrate it into the existing IT framework. Companies may take a delayed approach or stagger implementation over several months. Some may simply want to bite the bullet and switch their operating system across their organisation but worry about compatibility issues with existing equipment. IT Support Partners’ two down-to-earth seminars in March will give an overview of Vista and the commercial and technical aspects that business managers and IT technicians need to consider. The first seminar is aimed at business managers and focusses on the potential impact of Vista on the organisation, including its cost effectiveness, effect on productivity, network stability and security. The second seminar will spotlight the technical matters surrounding implementation, including compatibility issues, driver issues, hardware requirements and offer guidance on practical concerns such as whether Vista can realistically perform on older equipment. All IT Support Partners trainers are qualified experts with many years experience in the IT industry. Most have worked intimately with small and medium-sized businesses and understand the practical issues faced by companies when they implement or upgrade their IT systems, and how important it is to get it right. The seminars will take place at Abbey Stadium, Cambridge, and all delegates will be entered into a free prize draw for a match package at Cambridge United FC, including dinner for two and match tickets.Seminar places are limited so please book in advance. Refreshments will be provided and there is ample parking. A discount of 20% will be offered to delegates wishing to attend both business and technical seminars.
